Sunlight assaulted his eyes as he tried to orient himself, leaving him squinting and unable to get a grip on his surroundings.  
He tried reflexively to block the light from his eyes, but something held his arms fast, and he got no more than a faint metallic clanking for his efforts. Menagerie - pt. 1The Imeris Forest was a place of wonders. It was home to some of the most impressive examples of flourishing life on the continent. It was known to have the largest trees, the most expansive bushes, and some of the most unusual flowers ever seen. It remained the only outstanding habitat for some of the rarest species of feline. The wild pigs wandering its expanse were said to grow far larger than anywhere else, and it was famous for its insect population. In fact the one thing the Imeris Forest wasn’t known for was its rather nonexistent werewolf population.  “We’re lost aren’t we?”

I'm just writing to let you know that I'm still here, I haven't forgotten about you guys, and I definitely was NOT kidnapped by the FBI to help with a nationwide missing persons crisis before getting abducted by a rebel faction and forced to fight for my life against maniacial lone-ranger wannabes in neo-military outfits. Because that would be just damn silly.

No, in the sad, boring reality that is my life, it's been exam week and the week leading up to exam week. So while I've been fighting to keep my GPA above the national failing standards - I've decided I'm a really mediocre engineer - I've been a bit out of touch with the writing world.

So yes, give me a week or so more and you'll all have innapropriately timed responses to comments that will be about a month old, and I'll continue my work on the Succession plotline. I know the wait is killing you. Exams are killing me.

In other news, my magical reality-altering pen ran out of ink. Anyone know where I can get a refill? Writing just isn't nearly as fun without it. ~Kre
